The History of Love Christian Assembly
Edward and DixieLee Murray entered into the ministry in 1972. They have been in the ministry for over 35 years having pastored churches in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and are presently pastoring Love Christian Assembly for over 16 years. They have been married for 39 years. They have three children: JR, Justin, and Janelle and four grandchildren.
Love Christian Assembly was born from the seeds that were sown by the Holy Spirit in the hearts of Edward and DixieLee Murray. They had yielded to the call of God on their lives and as they stepped out they found Him to be faithful.
As the Lord unfolded His plan for the church, the Murray’s held on tightly to the vision God had given them. They have been totally committed to the preaching and teaching of the uncompromising Word for God. Over the years, their covenant with the Lord has been their anchor and their shield.
The first service of Love Christian Assembly was held Sunday evening, March 29, 1992. Almost 19 months after conception, Love Christian Assembly purchased and paid for thirteen acres of land located three miles north of Petersburg and 8 miles south of Moorefield on Route 220. Looking forward with God’s direction, May 6, 1995, excavation started to begin the erecting of a multi-purpose building.
Love Christian Assembly is a local Church with a global vision. We are committed to proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God into the nations of the world. With a heart to reach the nations, we have journeyed to the nations of Jamaica, Dominic Republic, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Romania, and Haiti.
So, what’s next? “Anything God wants!” they say. “God planted this church; it was His vision, long before we ever came on the scene. He has brought us this far, and I know He has plans for our future. There are a lot of people who need a church like LOVE CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY to show them that being a Christian isn’t boring – that it’s the biggest adventure of all.”

What Should I Expect When I Visit?
At LOVE CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY, we feel that it’s OUR responsibility to “clear the way” for you to come to church. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of LOVE CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY. And we know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions.
How Do I Get There?
LOVE CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY is located 8 miles south of Moorefield, WV or 3 miles north of Petersburg, WV on Route 220 which goes through the heart of the South Branch Valley. Flags of the Nations line the driveway of our church properties.
What Do I Wear?
We’re more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. So, dress casually and you’ll fit right in.
What’s Available For My Kids?
We know that as a parent you need be sure that your children are in a SAFE learning environment. And we know that your children are looking for a FUN place to learn. We’ve invested a lot to make sure that both of these goals are reached. You’ll see that in the buildings the children and students meet in, and even more in the volunteers who work with your kids.

If you are looking for something a bit more cutting edge than the piano-and-organ sound of traditional churches, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see a band of live musicians in our church.
